Default better spam control

I've asked this before and I'm sure hundreds have before... but I'd still like to see more effective spam fighting tools on reseller accounts.

After about two years of holding out, i finally forwarded my main email to Google's Gmail service. I hated doing it because I prefer to have more control, but after using it and seeing how good their spam fighting tools are I don't regret it.

Exclamation Re: better spam control

I would like to see this also! I get HUNDREDS of SPAM messages a day and its really frustrating. Theres those that one can report to SpamCop but then theres just those spoofed ones that no one can do anything about.

I use the available spam filtering tools available (SpamAssassin / e-Mail Filtering) but it only helps a tiny bit.
I find myself sifting through hundreds of spam messages in the chance that there is valid e-Mail in between it all and it really takes up a lot of my time!

Use spam filters in your email clients. I use The Bat http://www.ritlabs.com/en/
It has good plugins for spam filtering...

Im not a big fan of client side spam filtering
a: you have to train it and even then i feel compelled to look through my 'spam mailbox' to make sure i didnt mark any legitimate email as spam
b: you still have to waste time and bandwidth downloading spam. This is a big problem, especially if youre from South Africa and bandwidth charges are through the roof (for eg: 1GB of traffic on ADSL = +- 15-20 U$D). Thats excluding the fact that you still have to pay an 'ADSL line fee' which is a further 40U$D and thats ADSL 384 kiloBITS (not bytes) , not ADSL 2+ or anything. ARGH!!!!

The way USD is going, I'm surprised the Rd isn't worth more. Even CAD is worth more than USD. GBP has ALWAYS been worth more.

After I checked "Reject mail at SMTP time if the sender host is in the zen.spamhaus.org, or bl.spamcop.net rbl" under WHM --> Service Configuration --> Exim Configuration editor a couple of days ago it stopped 3,408 messages.

Have you tried that?
