Better ip pricing for dedicated server customers

I would like to suggest better pricing options for additional ip blocks for dedicated customers. Currently it appears they are $2 a piece and must get blocks of 8 for $16 a month total. Most quantity buyers get some kind of discount

Hostgator can give you the Ip's for cheaper as thats the price they buy them for from theplanet so they dont make any profit on Ip's

$2/ip is the direct price from thePlanet (i belive). So it would be nice if it were cheaper but don't hold your breath

I think selling them at cost is fine. Also thePlanet charges $25.00 to install new IPs on a machine, even if it is one or sixteen, so I don't see anything wrong with selling them for cost.

Plus, IPs are hard to get and very expensive. The two dollar fee prevents users from stockpiling them, which would be bad.

I didn't realize they were that high from the planet, as I had looked at getting a server there and it was $16 for a block of 26 to be added to the order

I have to believe that theplanet gives them to HG a lot cheaper than it gives to other customers, just because of sheer volume. I'm not saying HG shouldn't make a profit on them though.

If you are ordering in very large bulk (32+ ips usually) then we can sometimes give a very small discount. However because we only charge a few cents over our price, theres not much room for discount.

This has come up before. It really seems like HG is gouging on IP addresses. I know ever few months we will be answering the same questions about the cost of IPs.

I'm sure that when there are a larger supply, they will be cheaper.

ooops sorry if I am bringing up a dead old subject. I just that there was a lot of room to work with since the pricing I was getting when looking for a server direct from ThePlanet is much lower. Guess we just have to pass the high price down the line

give 2 or 4 more free IP to dedicated server will just solve it.

This is not intended as a comment about the subject of this thread but an observation that polling customers of any service in any industry about whether prices should be lower--without adding qualifiers or conditionals--will produce such predictable results as to be meaningless.
