Please bear with me as I'm green horn at this.
![]() My first site domain I setup with HG was for $15, .com/1 year. (+ $10.00 for Private) Ok, now I had a little time to play around so now a few questions. 1) The domain with private listing is $25.00 with HG (per live quote) 2) The domain with GD is under $20.00. (Private includede) This would seem to say I'm better to get domain at GD and hostit on HG. "Because of the great service thus far Any feed back is welcome. Now if I was to have a reseller, How does this change this matrix? I'm trying to get a simple picture moving forward, Thanks for any clarification of my confusion. Terry

You can purchase domains from many registrars then host them here.

Just to add,
When someone starts a reseller business, Are the typical domains not thru HG. I mean, are your guys main focus hosting, and not registrar? When I see your resellers oferring domain accounts free with a hosted site, are these say purchaced thru someone like GD and the cost absorbed in the annual charges? Thanks again... Terry

There are many places to get domain names. Try name.com they have free private whois.
I'm not sure how the resellers handle the 'free names'. |

Since both hosting and domain resellers have to pay for domains, presumably the cost of any "free" domains an HG hosting reseller offers his or her customers is covered by whatever he or she charges for hosting and other services.

If you do get a reseller account and sign up for the free enom account the domains are at a discounted price as well as the privacy.

I always recommend getting doamins from a ICANN approved registrara and hosting with whoever is best in hosting. So domain with godaddy and hosting with Hostgator is very much recommended.

I have been using DirectNIC for several years now and I have been very satisfied. I would not touch GoDaddy with a 100 foot pole. I have heard many horror stories about them.. mainly when you want to transfer your domain. I have heard people told that they own your domain name, not you. I would steer clear of them. There are many others out there.

I get mine at BansheeDomains.com for $6.95. If I want domain privacy, it's only $1.95 a year.
