What is the best way to create backups?

Basically I run two blogs and a forum on different addon domains (under one primary domain). I think downloading a complete backup is the best option for me, but I'm unsure. Plus if that's the case, what destination info would I need? (It asks me for remote server, ftp info, etc. Is that for my desktop, or what?) So I'm a little confused here.

(On a side note, I emailed GatorWesley for full forum access and still have not received a replied response to my email I sent him. His original one said I didn't exist, so I'm not sure if there's anything more I can do, or more info needed, etc.)

Once you have full forum access, do a search for this info. Several scripts and associated cron jobs have been recommended.

PM him with your account name, domain and email address that was set up with HG. He seems to be quick to handle things as I pm'd him a day or 2 ago and asked for an email change since I was changing isp's and it was done within a couple hours

How do I PM him? I don't see any PM icon or anything like that in his posts, user profile, etc.

Click the dot beside their name or their name in one of their posts should show the option.

Most likely because you have disabled sending & receiving of PM's.

I don't ever recall setting that option, and I looked in my UserCP edit options, profile, etc. and no option to enable PM's.

If he's not activated, he may not have PM permission.

You could always contact live support and tell them to "FIX IT NOW!!" Sorry, I recall a past user that went that route.

Might want to contact live support and plead your case as forum access is a valuable asset that should be part of your account

There is one way to test.
Click on your User CP (Control Panel) link "http://forums.hostgator.com/usercp.php".

If your able to view it you have 100% forum access if not then well......
