When is the best day of the week to reqest an upgrade to a dedicated server?

When is the best day of the week to reqest an upgrade to a dedicated server?
I only have time to work on my sites on the weekends, so I was thinking of putting a request on thursday or friday....but I don't want to be left hanging if hostgator doesn't upgrade accounts over the weekend.

I don't think there's any particular 'better' time. I've personally noticed that response times may be slightly longer Friday-Monday, but nothing terrible -- just often not as quick as Tuesday-Thursday.

Order the server during the week.. then do the migration during the weekend

We are staffed more during the week so there is a better chance of getting it up faster at that time.

I would request the upgrade on Wednesday.

i would have ordered it on weekdays, get it tweaked till friday, move the accounts on my own on the week end, so by monday you have everything running and your clients were not much affected by the move done on sat, sunday.

Assume it will take 3-4 days for you to get it in your hands. Also NEVER EVER UPGRADE to a dedicated server. That is THE WORST IDEA EVER!!!

Buy a dedicated and then cancel the reseller/shared account when you are finished with it. If you upgrade your are putting too many eggs in one basket. If you get a dedicated and its crap, you can cancel and only be out 1 month's money, instead of having downtime or worse. (Yes, every once in a while dedicated servers just sucks and they take longer to get working properly. Nothing to do with HG, just happens every where)
