Default Being on digg, slashdot or del.icio.us

Hi

I have a small business site that develops tools for the open source community. We average around 300 to 800 unique visitors a day. Occasionally we make it to the front page of a high traffic site like digg or slashdot sending a sudden surge of visitors to our website. About a few thousand at any given time during a 2 to 4 hour time range.

Would the hostgator swamp plan be sufficient for us?

Thanks
Mike

It's the spikes that may be a problem with them. They are very protective of server load...which keeps are the other clients happy...

If it was too much and bogging the server down all the time they'd probably want you on a semi-dedicated plan...

Or find some people to share a dedicated box....
