Unhappy Begging... No, pleading....

PLEASE, please, please, please, please, please, please, please get at least ONE competent support person. PLEASE. Why do I have to dread talking to hostgator customer support? Why is this the second time I've had billing problems, almost suspending my account both times, had I not caught them? Why should I be forced to e-mail a system administrator to get decent support? You guys charge enough to hire decent support - you can't say you don't get more than a fair return on your packages - just look at RapidVPS.com - they have you guys more than beat for features AND prices AND offer better support. There's no excuse for me to have to interact with someone who knows less about your systems than I do.

This is my suggestion, and my plea.

Seems like apples and oranges to me... that rapidvps only offers plesk.. I don't see anything there about offering CPanel. So you can't even compare Hostgator to them... because if someone wants CPanel... and not Plesk... its not a choice between the 2.

RapidVPS is a small, startup company. A whois on their domain will show that it was created in July of this year. A quick look at their forum will show that there are only a handful of registered users. I am not saying that they are not a good company, just that the great support that you are receiving is probably from a one of their system admins, if not the owner, because they have no other employees. It is much easier to keep all of your customers satisfied when you don't have that many of them.

As far as more features, I have to disagree with that statement. Just by offering plesk instead of cpanel with fantastico makes them offer fewer features. They do not offer a billing manager or a domain registration account. The VPS market is a niche market and it is not for everyone. In most cases it is a good way for a reseller to get the "feet wet" before going to a dedicated server. The other good use for a vps is when you do not require a dedicated server but require special configurations that are not suitable for a shared environment.

With whomever you choose, I wish you the best and hope that you are satisfied with your hosting experience. I have tried many hosts, including RapidVPS, and have been most satisfied here.
