I have been hosting with HostGator since May, 2005. I had been a reseller for a hosting company of a friend for many years when I decided that I wanted to have more control over my websites and my clients' websites. So I started searching for hosting.
I went with a company that looked good as a "reseller". When on their shared system the first week, the websites I had set up were down 5-6 times with no explanation. Ugh! After a month with them, I started my search again. And someone had recommended HostGator to me. I decided that, this time, I would spend the bucks and have my own dedicated server where I could control the traffic and the clients. So far, I have been very pleased. The tech support is some of the best I've experienced - quick and courteous replies, and quick resolutions. The only thing that I think could improve would be explanations of "why". hehehe I know that takes a little more time, but for those of us that have enough server knowledge to be dangerous, I would feel more comfortable if I knew why things happened and what was done to fix it. I'm still finding out what all the reports are for that I receive on a daily basis. I've learned how to block IPs that appear intent on hacking into my server. So I'm learning important things as I go, but only because I'm persistent in getting answers. Kudos to HostGator. I plan on continuing with you for quite some time.
