If an account is hosted, and it get's slashdot'd (or similar), are you able to quickly upgrade the account or completely move the site to a dedicated box and simply charge me?
Or do you suspend the account, then notify the customer, then offer the upgrade?...all the while that hard earned traffic goes to nowhere. |

In an instance such as your example, we would have no choice but to suspend the account until you agreed to and paid for any upgrades necessary to preserve network integrity.
We could never just watch the server load skyrocket and upgrade you automatically. |

How quickly would I be notified of the overusage?
If extra usage is anticipated for a brief period of time, how much would a temporary upgrade cost? |

The server sends you a warning message when you are approaching your limit.

Is there any way a reseller can agree ahead of time as to what maximum plan they can be automatically upgraded to in case of a temporarily large increase of traffic?

The current system seems to work fine. You will receive an email notice when you reach 90% capacity, and you may then determine whether or not you wish to purchase additional space/bandwidth. Many people reach 90% of their bandwidth in the final week of a billing cycle and choose to "wait it out". Usually they roll over into the next month w/o a suspension. -Justin |
