Question Bandwidth and Disk Usage?

Hi everyone,
Following was copied from another hosting provider's TOS.
Quote:
10.1 - ..... All bandwidth is measured daily and monthly bandwidth allowances are divided by the calendar days of a given month to determine the daily bandwidth allowance. Customer agrees that in the event of a dispute G****t's monitoring reports shall be the final method of determination how much disk space and bandwidth was used and agrees to pay the excess usage charges when due. ....
10.2 - To avoid unfair resource distribution at no time shall Customer use more than 15 simultanious processes by and with any of Customer's applications and not upload any file larger than 10 megabyte. All images in a Customer's hosting account must be linked to from pages within the Customer's hosting account. It is a violation of this agreement if Customer uses this account as merely an image, sound or file library. Binary files such as images, video and sound (i.e MP3, WAV, RA, GIF, JPG but not limited to those file extensions) may only account for a maximum of 50% of Customer's total bandwidth usage before customer must upgrade to a higher performance solution.
I'd like to know the limitations here on Host Gator before I sign up.

1. bandwidth is measured daily or monthly?
2. The excess usage charges???
3. File size limitation?
4. Images must be linked to pages within the account? How about, say, for eBay auction?
5. How about if I use this account as merely a file library/Photo gallery?
6. Binary files may only account for a max of 50% of total bandwidth usage?

Thanks!

1) Bandwith is measured monthly.
2) We do not have usage charges, when you are low on bandwith or space you can upgrade to the next plan.
3) 10mb is the max file upload size.
4) There is no image link policies, you can link to and from anywhere.
5) There would be problem doing that.
6) You can use your bandwith for anything you want.

So you're not in doubt: there's a "no" missing in 5):
5) There would be no problem doing that.

Can you clarify this for me. I have uploaded movies much larger than this using FTP. Is this the max file upload limit from cPanel's File Manager?

That 10mb file upload limit doesn't seem to be correct, at least as far as I've seen. FTP files can be much larger, I've upload 200mb files, PHP upload files are much smaller (2mb).

I've never seen a 10mb limit any place at HG, so I'm not sure where that came from.

To clarify, the 10mb limit is for email attachments. The PHP upload limit varies on each server.

I've never experienced the 10mb limit on emails. Is it limited by the mail box size?

The server I was on first and my current server both have the 2mb limit for PHP uploads.

That would be the max attachment file size on email, yes. On most servers.

Where is this information set? I've looked all over and my server appears to accept attachments smaller than 52mb. (reported by Horde when attempting to attach files).

I would like to be able to adjust this number, but I don't see where it is set.

For a dedicated I am not exactly sure where you would adjust that, but if you throw an email to support@hostgator.com PM me the ticket number and I will get it to someone who can answer that for you.

Thanks.

Edit: Solved:

Quote:
webmail has a limit of 50mb and I'm not aware of an option to increase that.

if you're using an external email program, then there is no default limit in Exim for attachments.
That agrees with what I have seen. No limit when I'm using Thunderbird, and Horde reported 52mb.
