I recently got a new reseller plan. (switching from an older reseller plan with you, so I backed up all of the sites as specified. blah blah blah) All of the new accounts I create, including the main one, have a few problems. First of all, in the "Back Up" are of cPanel, at the very top it says that backup is not enabled on this machine. What's up with that? Then down below in the "Download a MySQL Database Backup" area, even If that site has no mySQL databases it says:
DBI connect('mysql:localhost','root',...) failed: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Mysql.pm line 42 phpb1 whmauto The mySQL databases I uploaded to the new sites, seem to be fine, but there is that naging message and I dont know what it has to do with. Now to the WHM. In whm I used to be able to click on cPanel/WHM news at the top and type something that all my clients could see when they log in to cPanel. Well when I click on it, nothing happens. I can't do that anymore. So, there are those 3 issues for now. I am on the Viper server at 67.19.210.34. Main account is tempohosting.com (just changed NS's though, so you may still see the old site). The username is "fonztlpt". |

The CPANEL backup message seems to be present on the Mustang server as well...
Backup cPanel System Backup is not enabled on this machine. Some other type of backup system may be in place, however downloads cannot be fetched using this module. Can this be corrected? |

It's suppose to say disbaled from cpanel. We do offsite backups that would be if we backed up to the same hard drive which wouldn't do anyone any good if hard drive failure.

I always wondered how important it was since the links to backup work regardless and the restore seems to be it's own function. Almost worth it to remove the warning because I know I have seen this question multiple times.

There is still the issue of the mySQL thing-a-mer-bober.
DBI connect('mysql:localhost','root',...) failed: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES) at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Mysql.pm line 42 AND the WHM/cPanel news function not working. Is anyone else experiencing these problems? -Steven |

As for the database connection error, did you re-create your database user account in Cpanl after uploading the backup, and did you modify your configuration script with the new user info?

Do you have a support ticket number for this issue I can look into? If not please start one and let me know the ID to look into this problem.
Thanks, Ben |
