I'm interested in the baby plan for email. I like the features offered and want to set up two email accounts on this plan. myname.com and mywifesname.com. Is this possible and how happy are people with HG email? I used the demos and I liked what I saw. In the future I may do a webpage but that is to be seen.
Also I searched for peoples opinion on who to register domain with since I saw members comment in threads that there are threads dedicated to the topic but I could not find any when searching. I have done a lot of searching and HG seems like they are one of the few companies I can trust. I have also been told I should register my domain with a different company then my host. I now people with yahoo, register.com and godaddy and none of them complaine but none of them had to transfer and most have a tech manageing their website. |

All registrars are the same for the most part.... Go for a biger company with supoprt.
If your just hosting e-mail, the company only matters for uptime, not so much for speed. Baby will work for you. |

I've been doing alot of research on registrars lately. I had my domain name over at enom.com on the advice of my website designer. Big mistake! First of all, they charge $30.00 per year for your name. Second, I hated their control panel. Third, that place has zero support as far as I can tell.
moniker.com is supposed to be very secure. I asked on a couple of forums what people thought of them and I got no bad replys, only good reports. They only charge $10.00 a year for the name, and another $4.00 a year for domain privacy, which was something I wanted. Enom charged $8.00 a year for that. There are cheaper companies that you can get your domain name through, but moniker is very secure. No domain name has ever been hijacked from moniker. I found the transfer from enom to moniker very easy to do. It is a little more difficult to transfer a name out of moniker because of their security protocalls, but that's ok with me. I don't plan to transfer ever unless there is a good reason to, such as the company going out of business. They handle alot of big company domain names, such as Yahoo, so I think they are in this for the long haul. Google them and see what you think. |

I was getting sick of my reseller which had a crappy interface and was relatively expensive. I did a bit of research too and Moniker was the top of my list, which was why I decided to transfer to them. It's funny how I heard of Moniker: I read a bad review of Godaddy suspending seclists.org, reverse dns-ed seclists and found they were hosted by Moniker, looked up Moniker and found that they had a good pricing and secure system.
It's been a couple of days, waiting for the pending transfer to be finalised. Hopefully this move will be a good choice. |

So THEN purchase a hosting account with whichever host you like - there are zillions of them, including GoDaddy and Hostgator (we recommend Hostgator
).If you decide not to use GoDaddy for your host, change the name servers at GoDaddy (presuming you keep them as your domain name registrar) to those provided by your new host. No Problem. |
