Quote:
find entry SkipHosts="" above that you see examples how to use it.

I tried this last month, and it worked. I just checked my visitor stats today, and noticed my ip in there. I went to check that file, and now it shows SkipHosts="". Why is it empty now?

Hello,
I had the same issue, it's because the file is regenerated everyday. So I contacted the support, first they ask me to put the file on /home/username/ directory, but it didn't work with me. So, the support asked me if they can 'chattr +i' this file, this mean that it can't be modified or overwritten... And if I want to modify it, then I have to ask them to remove this "chattr" behavior. I accepted, and now everything is fine ![]() So, I suggest to copy your conf file at the root of the FTP (/home/username/). If it doesn't work put back the file on tmp (with your modified value), and ask Hosgator to "chattr +i" this file. Hope it will help, Cya later, Hadoken |

Hello,
Here is a little update : Some weeks ago, I had to change the ip on "SkipHosts" line, so I asked nicely to the support for removing the "chattr+i" behavior. They did it and when I made all modification on the conf file, I asked to "chattr+i" the file (explaining why we have to do this). They did it very quickly. Cya later. Best regards, Hadoken |

Skiphosts accepts regex:
SkipHosts="REGEX[^123\.123\.123\.]" Just put in the first three octets of your IP. |

Interesting stuff. I wrote this down in a blog post about excluding an ip in Awstats.

Lol, well if itīs below $10 a month I call it cheap. By the way, chmodding 444 the conf file wonīt work. Apparently you always need to get support involved

With this, are you referring to the website's own IP? That's the problem I'm having. Most of the referrals listed to my site are from various pages and images from my own site. That doesn't help much. Problem is, I want to change this on ALL the sites I host, and I want to do it with not just Awstats, but Webalizer and the others.
Is there a system-wide setting that can be used? |

no system wide setting that I know of. For AWStats just put localhost in the SkipHosts paramter and you should be fine.
