Hi Support,
Awstats have been down since yesterday...on all of our sites. Server load averages on Tbird (and others) have been somewhat interesting over the past few days... Any thoughts? Thanks, Duke |

I have also noticed high loads over the last week or so.

How about it support...staff? What's up with awstats?
I would be glad to send an email to your email support, but they've never been any help in the past. They are very nice, though. Duke |

Load averages are sky-high again the morning. Awstats still not working...down two days.
How about it people? How about some answers...and fixes?! Let's get with the program... Duke Last edited by duke; 12-05-2005 at 07:54 AM. |

Hello,
The load should be low at this time on tbird. The stats should be updating on tonight's automated run. However, in the meantime, if you can open a ticket (if you've not already done so), we can check into the issue further for your account and force a manual update now as well. Thank you. |

Yes, the load is down now, but has been fluctuating wildly, as I'm sure you know. I've seen the averages over 45...this A.M. over 15. It causes problems.
As for awstats, they have a link to update. The problem is, they don't update when you click it. The reason we prefer awstats is because it's the only thing you've got that resembles real time. The once-every-24-hour log updates of other stat programs is lame. Do you have real time log files? The raw log link in cpanel does nothing. Are you placing too many clients on your servers? We've been with you since October of 2004 and your service appears to be heading south... I would open a support ticket if I thought it would do any good. Hello,
The load should be under control now. The logs are in real-time, as they are written to as the hit is made, or error is logged (if there's an error). We limit the number of resellers per reseller server to a reasonable number (much lower than other providers that offer reseller services), but even with 10 resellers (for example--this of course has more than 10 resellers), if each add 100 accounts, you'd have 1,000 accounts (just as an example--I'm not saying anyone or most have 100 or more resold accounts). Please don't be discouraged from opening a support ticket should you have any problems. You'll find you will get a much quicker response there than from a post on the forums, and you'll have a much better chance of getting the issue resolved quicker that way. You may also request that, if I'm on shift, the ticket be assigned to me personally, and I'll be happy to ensure that it's looked into and dealt with properly, and that your issue is resolved. Thank you. |

Thanks, Tim. I/we appreciate your efforts and responses.
We like Hostgator and don't want to see you go the way of so many other hosting companies we've dealt with over the past 10+ years. Duke |

been with hostgator for about 2 years, over the last month or 2 I have also witnessed the highest load averages I have ever seen here 20-30 at times. I have no complaints on hostgator otherwise but if this continues I may have to look elsewhere, gets kinda old emailing the same thing over and over "server load is red please fix"

I've been having the same problems on puma since 10:00 this morning but I think it's more than server overload. Right now the load is at 0.45 which can hardly be better and yet none of the sites hosted on any of my accounts are working.
Edit: They just back, apparently the admins restarted the services. Last edited by NetSimplicite; 12-07-2005 at 01:50 PM. |
