Autopayments on Monthly Hosting

First, let me say that I love HostGator. Absolutely great hosting company. Great servers, great support and great pricing.

However, if I could make just 1 suggestion it would be that customers have to signup for automatic payments when the signup for hosting via Paypal. This is why...

I have been a HostGator affiliate for years. However, not much success at it! I get the customers initially (20+), but when customers are late on monthly payment, then affiliates don't get paid. Even if customers pay the next day, the commission is still voided.

I fully understand that it's a business and you can't just throw money at everyone, but my paid conversion rate is below 50% and that's too low a figure for a hosting company like HG. You know cutomers are not dropping for service, etc so the only thing I can think of is the late payments.

I think if they had automatic payments via Paypal, it would translate into a better relationship with affiliates. My understanding is they do this with credit card payments, just not Paypal.

That would be a great thing... my 2 cents

Thank you for your comments. I will pass this along. I would like to also offer a little bit of info, based solely on observation from signups. From what I've seen, it appears that this is an issue that can't really be corrected by paypal, as paypal subscriptions are on an opt-in basis only. What I mean by that is that when they go to make a payment, whether it's the initial one or otherwise, they have to click the PayPal Subscribe link from their invoice, rather than just the Pay Now with PayPal link.

Again, this is just personal observation, and may or may not be the case, but I hope it helps in some fashion.
