Default Audi down so many times

Does anyone else notice that Audi went down almost every day over the last 2 weeks? I have been doing a bit of work on a few of my clients sites and about 15 times over the last 30 days all my sites were offline. They were offline for a very short time (1 to 10 minutes). When I contact support they tell me this

If you are experiencing a lot of downtime then you should bring it to our attention
as soon as you notice it and we can look at logs to see how long the site is/was
down for. As stated before, the servers get restarted periodically for routine
maintenance and stuff like that. When that happens though the site should only be
offline for about 5 minutes, maybe 10 at the very very most. If you have any
further issues feel free to contact us. Thank you!

Is it just me, does anyone else notice this?
I have a very big client that I'm working on a site for. They have notice 1 downtime so far when I was showing them the site. This is not good so I want to find out what is the best path to take. Is this happening on other servers?

Thanks
Michael

Thumbs up Re: Audi down so many times

This happens to me too and I am on charger. I get told many things by support, but it is usually something like "the server may be experiencing a high load" and "according to the server log there have been no issues." I have a good (paid) monitoring service that checks sites I have at HG and at another host; My sites at HG on "charger" are the only ones ever being reported as down.

I don't much care if it is only for a few minutes here and there - it is happening and no one can give me a straight answer as to why. I get five different answers from five different techs, until I finally I might get a level-3 system admin who knows what is up, or at least cares enough to investigate further.

Charger is occasionally reported as down 3+ times in a day, for several minutes at a time. I have several sites elswhere with the same exact monitoring service that have not reported as down in over a YEAR! HG just says the monitoring service is inaccurate.

HG is in my opinion one of the best hosts I have ever been with, so here I remain and will continue to recommend them.

We just need to deal with certain things as just a part of doing business. Until some of us (like you and me) can afford private servers, this issue I think will continue. At least we are not dealing with servers being down for hours at a time (been there too, with other hosts). Count your blessings; HG is doing a great job 99% of the time.

Sort periods of downtime are likely network issues, not server related. Servers tend to work or not work, not flip on and off quickly. The one issue that may be a problem is high server load, but you can check that from your control panel. You can log your server load as well and see what is going on with it.

Let me also comment on this line, which I think is VERY important.

Shared hosting and reseller shared hosting generally sucks, everywhere. While it may be available 99.9% of the time, it still sucks. When you are selling hosting from a reseller account, you are selling the worst, bottom of the barrel hosting on earth! Your goal should be to move to a dedicated server as quickly as possible. As a business, you can't rely on shared hosting to make money, as your clients will be unhappy. You should consider shared hosting as only good enough to get started.
