Default Assigning unused space ?

Hi,
I have aluminium reseller hosting package and I have few accounts wich are using 5% of their assigned space. Can I use remaining space (with 10 accounts like these I have about 2.5GB unused space) of that account and assign it to another account but without changing space quota of the packages?

Hi,

You would be better placed to get support if you posted this in the reseller section of the forum.

Regards, Keith

No, if you want to assign space from account A to account B, you need to reduce account A's quota.

This is called overselling, and HG does not allow it. While it may feel restrictive to individual resellers initially, in the long run, I do agree you will be able to offer your clients better service because it's not allowed.

if the space given is total 25GB, and each of them taking 2.5, you can have 10 account created only. regardless how much space used up by the account individually.

I see the things this way.
Let say you hold 40-50% free for to let the domains grow. They allways grow with the E-mails, logs, whatever.
Whats free after can be used as sub domains or add on domaims. There is no units limit the total have to stay in your 60%+- space.
There is a minimum of about 2 Gb per domain for the domain files.
So you can create a 100 small ones or 10 small ones and a large one or...
Remember an addon needs a registered domain name, a sub (sub.mydomain.tld) not.
