Not very likely.

Fixed? To say "fixed" implies that something is faulty or broken, whilst it is not.

I can help... I know Arabic as a second language. If you have any problem, just ask in the forum and PM me with your thread link and I will help you in your language.
If I did not know the answer, I will ask the HG live support and then I will reply to you with the answer. Believe me, there is no Host better than HostGator...

I suggest that they make a survey and see what their customer language is.... if arabic takes a large percentage then adding an arabic speaking agent to live support will increase HG popularity in the Middle East.

I think the costs would out-weight the benefits.
I don't suppose a support technician fluent in English and Arabic is cheap

Also,
It would be almost discriminatory to provide support for a single foreign language...

There are plenty of solutions out there cheaper than hiring a fluent technician for each language. The parent company of the company I work for provides over the phone interpretation, where basically you get a conference call with an interpreter in your client's language. The interpreter translates the clients question for you and conveys it to you in english, and vice-versa for the answer. I believe currently they provide support in 170 languages.

Something to look into.

While I understand that support in international languages may not be Hostgators priority, I guess that is an area with good potential. Having worked in Saudi Arabia for some time, I have seen a lot of arabs paying 10 times the rates charged by hostgator for inferior service, only because that they don't understand English. If HG can manage to have some support staff fluent in English and one of the foreign languages like Arabic, that would open up a new revenue stream. Some hosts like iweb8 do that and I know how much difference it make to people who doesn't know English well.

Thought this thread should have some kind of official response.

The main thing to consider is that we are also a 24/7 operation, so not only would we need a tech who knows arabic, but we would need a way for him to be on all of those chats and calls throughout the week. We would also need someone on all 3 shifts as well as weekends, which then becomes paying for 6 employees. These 6 employees would be required just to handle chats and phones, for tickets you would then be looking at another 1-2 high paid employees, if even possible to find ones that are rewilling to relocate. We already have a hard time finding experienced admins who speak english, so that would be difficult.

Once you start getting into those numbers, and the fact that we would need to purposely find and train those who speak arabic for the job, the cost begins to outweigh any actual benefits. While it would be great to have different language support, we believe that there are other places that money can be spent to increase service quality for everyone. For now, it is always good to ask if someone in chat or phone if your language is available, because many of our techs do have secondary languages. But it would just be luck if one is available at that time.

Webhosting services or Web Hosting. Perhaps a more general thread, so others w. other languages can also volunteer?
