Exclamation Apache Web Server

I am on the server 'BMW' and just noticed this...
Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.alphahost.co.nz Port 80 Is this software version like, old?I am pretty sure there are much newer more secure versions - a webhosting friend alerted me to this. I would like some feedback on this!

We run the latest stable version of Apache. If you're one of our dedicated clients is possible we forgot to upgrade you. If this is the case please e-mail support with your server information.

This is from the Apache website...
Apache 2.0.54 Released
The Apache HTTP Server Project is proud to announce the release of version 2.0.54 of the Apache HTTP Server ("Apache").

This version of Apache is principally a bug fix release.

The BMW server is apparently running 1.3.33
This version is out:
2.0.54

Is it not stable?

Currently, Apache 1.3.x is the most current version known to work with everything. Upgrading to 2.0.x is similar to upgrading a Windows 98 machine to Windows XP and expecting everthing to work flawlessly. Apache 2.0.x is not a simple upgrade, it was a complete rewrite of the webserver.

PHP and everyone else seems to support it pretty well now, but CPanel has not yet certified it. Thus, to install it on a system running CPanel, it would be experimental.

Hope that helps.
