The tech support for my previous web host told me that the numerous downtimes I was experiencing on my site (9 or 10 downtimes per month) were due to ServiceUptime reports being 'notoriously incorrect'. This was after I had informed them that I had personally verified all the downtimes from my own computer everytime ServiceUptime sent me a downtime notification. (So apparently my eyesight was coming into question as well).
Now that I have moved my site here to Hostgator (30 days ago), I haven't had a single downtime notification sent to me by ServiceUptime nor have I noticed any downtime myself. And I'm using the exact same configuration for my site as I was for my previous host. What an amazing coincidence. I guess ServiceUptime fixed whatever it was that was sending out all those 'false' downtime notifications at the exact same time that I moved to Hostgator... How 'bout that? (hee hee...)
