For my soon-to-be-launched web site (Software Candy), I needed a Perl module that is critical to one of my products. I couldn't find it in the installed list, so I opened a ticket requesting that module to be installed.
Within less than an hour, HostGator's support (thank you Bill H.) installed that module, flawlessly, smoothly and without any problem whatsoever. It works so nicely. ![]() For that, HostGator receives a PERFECT 10 out of 10!

Thank you! We're glad to hear that you're happy. I'll send the link to this to Bill as well.

Wow! Wow! Wow! and once more - Wow!
I didn't use my account's cPanel for a day or two and... all of a sudden I see this beautiful, eye-catching, neatly organized, new cPanel. Never mind the aesthetics. This new and improved cPanel is functionally way better than anything I have seen so far (for web site management). I cannot praise highly enough this constant and consistent improvements and enhancements that HostGator keeps providing. First, listening to our security concerns by avoiding emailing passwords when not requested. Now, displaying CPU (and inode) usage. And the "last straw" that prompted me writing this post: When deleting database using cPanel (not phpMyAdmin), every delete click is followed by a confirmation prompt "Are You Sure?". This wasn't in the previous version of HG's cPanel and was a cause for concern (we all know how easy it is to click the wrong spot...). Now, before I even asked for this feature, HostGator addressed this issue. This is called forward thinking and deserves special praise. I have no doubt that if HostGator continues likes this, it will earn not only my current business as a customer for life but others as well - even when I move to dedicated hosting. HostGator still receives from me a 10 out of 10, technically speaking. My only remaining concern is the infamous "automatic site shutdown". This has never happened to me (yet), but I believe this is because my site has not been exposed yet to the public (still in beta testing). I wish HostGator have some way of alarming me when to upgrade to a dedicated web hosting, based on daily traffic - and before shutting down the site.

Thanks for the continued kind words.
The new cPanel theme includes ways to monitor your resource usage, so the shut down issue should be even less of an issue now that customers can very easily monitor their own resource usage.
