Allowed payment methods

Is it possible to pay for hosting via a debit card? If yes, is it necessary that the debit card be a VISA card or "Verified By Visa"?

On the payment options screen, there is only "credit card" and "paypal" given as options. I read somewhere that you just have to choose "credit card" and then enter your debit card number and the 3 digit number at the back of the card for the CVV and it will be processed but that wouldn't work, right?

Thanks for the reply. I have been reading through the other threads on this forum and it looks like the debit cards which can also be used as credit cards are the ones that will be allowed by the payment system. I guess that's the information I was kinda looking for.
