Default Is this allowed in HostGator?

Am thinking of moving to HostGator from Hostmonster

Is this kinda site allowed?
I created my own CMS like app

The site is about artisians.

Artists come, the register on my site. then create profile and build simple galleries to show off their art work.

Quite likely but best to email or call or use live chat to HG sales to get the official response.

Why wouldn't it be though, logically speaking?

If the site abides by the TOS (linked at the bottom of this page) then no, there should be no problem. Ultimately these forums are for peer support and for a definitive answer it would be best to contact HG directly.

There are a variety of reasons why such a site might not be allowed on a shared account.

For instance, if the OP is charging for the "simple gallery" that might be considered reselling.

Or, if an artist's gallery' uses too much server resources, such as downloadable music files.

Well, those still seem like week arguments, i dont think hostgator would really bug you about something like that (unless people are downloading gigs of media files at a time like a whole movie)

We're HG customers and we don't know. How would you have any idea, not having an account?

That's why we suggested talking to support or sales.

I dont really have to have an account to understand TOS and rules, as thats something i should read and understand before signing up, isnt it? Anyways Im not trying to smash your post im just saying they would have to be really (umm not sure what word to use here, "whack"? perhaps) to call it reselling and give your trouble.

I understand the resurces part, last time i checked the limit was 25% of system resources, if i remember correctly. But again thats not usually a problem as long as his site dosent use really really heavy scripts.
