All praise and only one suggestion/request
I've dealt with quite a few different hosting providers in the last couple of years and none of them can compete with Host Gator. Where other companies "talk" professional, this one serves you professionally.
It's so great to finally come across a site that can speak to you on an equal level but still provide you with excellent service. Countless companies these days sacrifice customer service for the "professional tone" when speaking to customers. I like the fact that when I ask for help, I'm speaking to a human rather than somebody who sounds like they have a mechanical brain. I have nothing but a thumbs up for the support and sales team. The few times I've even had to use the support service (because the site has an extensive knowledgebase to go with its easy to follow directions), I had the pleasure of speaking with polite, knowledgeable and friendly people.
I've been hosted for a few months now and I have nothing but good things to say. The price is unbeatable as well as all of the free scripts, the great CP, the extremely reliable hosting (my previous provider had crashed 3 times in the first two months plus relied on a back up causing data loss) and a great payment system.
The only negative thing I have to say (and I am really stretching for this one) about Host Gator is their horrific choice for using red text on top of a blue background in the Support Chat screen. It's almost as if Stevie Wonder picked the color scheme for that one. The short sentence in question is between the messagebox where you type and the upper box where you view it. So basically, one irrelevant sentence and I only noticed when I was asking one of the reps which server I was on so I could join the forums and post a positive review. The rep also answered the question in less than a minute and was polite and friendly and spoke like a human rather than a robot. I wish I remembered his name because he was a great rep.
I will not only be renewing my subsciption when it ends in the summer, but I will be joining the affiliate program and telling as many people as I can about this provider. Although it's early to say, I can't see myself having to purchase extra hosting space any time soon because it will be years before I fill the 100 gigs I already have.
It is hard to please everybody, but I believe if you've had a terrible experience with these guys, you didn't give the support/sales team a chance. They are nothing but polite, friendly and helpful. There's a reason Host Gator was voted number #1 on many different review sites. They are simply the best out there. Extremely helpful, every step of the way. Thanks for the excellent few months I've been with you.
