Default Adding Domain to Existing Plan?

I currently have a Baby plan hosting 1 domain. I'd like to add a second domain. What is the process for registering a new domain and applying it to an existing plan?

Thanks,
Dave

You can register the domain with any registrar and set the nameservers to the same one as your main domain. You should use the Addon Domain option in your cPanel to set up the new domain on your account.

Can I use any TLD I want or is there a limitation on which domains you'll host?

If you can change the nameservers to the HG nameservers then you should be able to host it here. What TLD are you considering. Please note that the forum is peer support. For a definitive answer from HG you can open a ticket or use Live Chat.

Hello Dave,

You can host any domain here, as long as you can point your nameservers to your HostGator account. Your nameservers are included in your welcome email, and your registrar should be able to assist you with making that change. A small number of domains do require a dynamic DNS service, but this is rare. Domains requiring a dynamic DNS service can be found here: http://support.hostgator.com/article...ter-tld-prices

You will also need to create an addon domain in your cPanel. More information about creating an addon domain can be found here: http://support.hostgator.com/article...n-addon-domain

If you require further assistance, please feel free to contact us via live chat, phone or email.

I apologize. I thought that the Baby plan only allows one domain. Wouldn't he have to upgrade to Hatchling?

No, the Baby Plan allows you to host unlimited domains. It's the Hatchling Plan that allows only one domain.

I can never remember which is which - I have to go look at the list of plans. In my mind, a "hatchling" and a "baby" are both little things. And "baby" implies a plan with which you can't do much of anything, which is very misleading.

Instead of Hatchling, Baby, and Business, they need more informative names, like Single-Site, Multi-Site, and Business.
