Site was created in Eversoft First Page as CSS and works fine.
I need to add a "Photo Album" page to display samples of the clients work, not for selling as in a gallery page. The Fantastico "photo galleries" offered in cPanel seem way more complicated that what I have need of. Can I create just a single "photo album" page in "Sitebuilder" and link it to the existing site? Thanks for your guidance. |

Sitebuilder is not designed to make single pages, it can only do an entire site. If you were to just design on page it would upload that and remove everything else.
You may want to check hot scripts and see if they have anything that is more to your liking. http://www.hotscripts.com/category/p...age-galleries/ |

First of all, any web page can include both images and CSS (cascading style sheet) layout specifications. The latter merely govern how various page elements (text, images, tables, etc.) appear in the visitor's browser.
As Nathon points out, Sitebuilder's design capabilities are limited to entire sites. Although it can create pages within it that include images and others with links to those pages, its total range and flexibilty are quite rudimentary. You should not, however, be intimidated by other "photo gallery" options. They're really not very difficult to set up and I stongly suspect that, sooner or later, your clients will want such features as "category" and "album" arrangments, uploading controls, thumbnails, etc. If you want an example of how one amateur gallery looks, there's a very basic Coppermine set-up on my site here. Integration into the overall site design took more time than setting up the gallery itself. Last edited by virtvir5; 05-06-2009 at 02:38 PM. |

I've played with Coppermine in the past.
Lately I am more into the Drupal Framework and a new Gallery I am experimenting with is here: http://artist-247.com There was plenty of initial fiddling, but the end result is fairly simple. I really have just begun this week. The the developer of the Gallerix module has this site: http://the.failbo.at/node/29?picture=373 One thing for sure, there are plenty to chose from. I sure don't know them all.

Nice site, but I have a feeling that the leap from "a single photo album page in Sitebuilder" to installing a complete Drupal framework and CMS image management modules might be a pretty long one for this OP.
Of course, I could be wrong and it would have some total package integration advantages over a standalone gallery like Coppermine. |

Thanks so much everyone, I'll be checking those out.
I did create and upload picks with one of the 'Fantastico' gallery modules. It seemed to me though that with all the options they offer that it is designed for people to be able to "order" copies, and other such functions that I don't need at this time. (e.g. it also offers user registrations and stuff that I don't need) I had used "Gallery" from Fantastico and uploaded 23 pics to an album and know the album url. Would I be able to create a link from an existing page on my site to the album url? My client just wants some samples of her work for interested clients to look at. |

Once again, if you want an example go here. The thumbnails you see and the full-size images they pop up are exactly the same files that are listed in my gallery example above. |

P.S.: Do you need help with the process itself -- i.e., how to add a URL link to an existing web page? If so, have you used the cPanel file manager and its file editor? Are you familiar with using FTP for downloading and uploading files?
If you want instructions that you can simply copy and paste, I'd need the actual URL that you want to insert. Last edited by virtvir5; 05-06-2009 at 05:49 PM. |

Sometimes site integration is not a concern. If that's the case, don't forget to consider other options like linking the website to another site such as Flickr that can host the photos.

Does your client need to have the ability to add images frequently on her own or is she just going to give you a bunch to put up and maybe have you add a few every now and again.
If you will be adding the images you could consider the gallery features of photoshop or photoshop elements. The older versions made html code galleries. The more recent ones are flash. I think the switch to flash was version 5 for elements and CS for photoshop. You can find older versions of PS Elements quite cheap, it was often bundled with hardware. jalbum is a free gallery maker I've heard good things about. |
