Got the account this week after having a HG separate account (only one domain there). Can't assign add-on domains to subdirectories of subdirectories (folders within folders- could on other hosts though), but could redirect added domains to nested folders. Unfortunately, the add-on domain name address won't pass subdirectories (www.add-on-domain.com/files)
I hope it's a misunderstanding or just something left out of the Help and FAQs. If not, then small things, like limitations on add-on domains, SQL upload limits (had a big problem there- was reason left old host, 2 mb SQL upload limit), these should be somewhere for pre-sales access before people sign up. Without the ability to assign add-ons to nested folders, OR the server allowing access to add-on subfolders (as in the example listed above), I might need to look at another host. |

I created an addon domain on my account and was able to see folders using the format addondomain.com/test just fine. You might try deleting and recreating the addon domain if it is not working or contact support with details so that they can check and see that all is working correctly.

when i create an addon domain, i don't make the folder first. the intial folder is created when i set up the addon.
i did have one client who wanted to use a subfolder of his addon domain folder at the default. i did a 301 redirect, i believe, in the .htaccess of his default folder to accomodate this. but there may be better ways to address it.

From the browser, the add-on domain looks just like its own world with as many nested subdirectories as you want.
