Default Add-On domain question

hey guys,

either I am the most stupid person in this community or I do something completely wrong.

I am owner of the "Baby Croc" package and I have purcached two domains.
Lets say www.domain1.gr and www.domain2.gr

I registred to the HG with one of them (www.domain1.gr) and I am trying to point the other one (www.domain2.gr) in my account on HG by using the "Add-On domains" functionality but at the end...

******** PROBLEM **********
....I can only access domain2 by typing www.domain2.domain1.gr in my browser witch off course isn't what I wanted!
******** PROBLEM **********

I follow the next procedure:
1) cPanel -> Addon domains. I declare domain2 in field "New Domain Name" as domain2.gr and choose also a password.

2) I put a test index.html file in the new created "domain2" directory in "public_html".

3) Then I go to the registar of this domain2 and I change the dns entries to what HG sent me when I did the registration for my account.

I was expecting that by typing www.domain2.gr in my browser I could see the index.html file.

Unfortunately it only happens when I am typing www.domain2.domain1.gr

Any idea ?

Check that you have entered the correct DNS servers at your domain registrar. Then be prepared for a wait, sometimes a day or two for the new DNS settings to propagate.

However if you are unsure get HG support to check your cpanel settings.

DNS are copied & pasted from the welcome e-mail of the HG and I think the registrar has already point the domain-2 to the HG's servers otherwise I couldn't see the index.html file even by typing domain2.domain1.gr

At least I wanted to know of someone who is absolutely sure if the procedure I described in my 1st post is the proper procedure or if I am doing something wrong, before I disturb the HG's guys.

Looks like you have done it correctly.

If you post the domains in question it makes it much easier for us to comment.

I was chatting with the HG support and they told me that they already can see the test-html page I put in the addon folder by typing this second domain as-is (it is www.sophia-creations.gr).

When I responsed that I can't see it they told me that I have to wait up to 48 hour for the DNS propagation to take effect for the every quadratic centimeter in the earth.

Thus ...I will freeze it for the next days and then I will post if everything is alright.

That's exactly what I said in my first reply. Glad it's all working as it should.

It's working fine for me as well. You can try running 'ipconfig /flushdns' from a command prompt if you are running Windows and clear the DNS on your local computer. If you are using cable or DSL you can also try shutting down the modem and then restarting it.
