Default add on domain question .

i had a hatchel pack and just upgraded to baby for the sole reason of add on domains,

if my domain is : MyDomain , i want 3 of my other domains to redirect to this one. (dont see a problem here , just to put in parked domains)

but my main issue is (why i upgraded) to have another domain : X.com
hosted in HG. when i add it in "addon domain" it does redirect me , but to
X.MyDomain.com .

i want it to show X.com , what do i do ?

thnx for all help.

If you create the addon domain correctly it should show using the domain name alone. You do need to make sure that the new domain is registered and that you have set the nameservers to the same ones as your primary domain.

We might be able to help more if you provide the domain names for the primary and addon domains so that we can check on whether it resolves for us. You should also look at the Support link at the top of this page and enter 'Addon' in the search box. There are a lot of articles in the Support Portal on setting up Addon domains.

Hello!

It sounds like what you're doing is adding the new domains as "Addon Domains" when a redirect or parked domain may be more appropriate for what you're trying to achieve.

If you redirect DomainY.com to DomainX.com, when someone goes to DomainY.com, it will point them to DomainX.com. You can read more about creating a redirect here: http://support.hostgator.com/article...-how-to-create

If you add DomainY.com as a Parked Domain, when someone goes to DomainY.com, it will show the content of DomainX.com but DomainY.com will still display in the visitor's address bar. You can read more about parked domains here: http://support.hostgator.com/article...and-delete-one

Hope this helps!
