I don't know if Host Gator can "customise" the logs section of the cPanel installation, but if so, I suggest that FTP log analysis capability be added for AWStats. At present it is available only for Webalyzer.
The required awstats.ftp.domain.name.conf file is quite strightforward for Apache FTP logs, but it does require some specific parsing params and also some on/off display option settings. The one I've done for my own site works fine using LogFormat= "%time3 %other %host %bytesd %url %other %other %method %other %logname %other %code %other %other" If interested, I'd be happy to pass along my compete .conf file as an example, and/or additional details can be found at http://awstats.sourceforge.net/docs/...s_faq.html#FTP |

While you're at it, how about switching to MaxMind's current Geo::IP or Geo::IP::PurePerl module. It's also free and is much more recent than Graciliano's Geo::IPfree module.
If you're not able to do this yourself due to cPanel constraints, it might be worth passing along the suggestion to the cPanel people themselves for their next version update. The Geo::IPfree module that they're currently installing for Perl is at least five years out of date and there have been a lot of geopolitical reassignments since then.
