Host gator Staff, I have some site that are working intermittently. I have the following site that has been working since yesterday but doesn’t seem to work today www. kdreyer.com. I have tried it for the past two hours.

The following sites are resolving to my godaddy parked page. I called your support and they told me to open a ticket which I have
1. http://www.omalas.info
2. http://www.omalasclients.info

What is going on? is is the name server issue on acura, DNS zone? I have been patient but please let me know as My patience is running out

HG if you are in Boca and i am in Miami then yout itme zone should be est right?. I posted the above post at 6.10 am and it states 10.?? what time zone is the forum set on.

Also what are the hardware swaps?

Day 3 and my account with the user name Pxxx is still not restored.

What's worrying me is that the sites we've actually been experiencing issues with are those that have been restored.

Primarily the restore seems to reset all DNS entries to default, and for most of our clients sending e-mail via Acura (the default) generates an error along the lines of "unable to relay".

We've logged this entirely separate issue and chased the ticket at least 3 times to be told - wait until the restore finishes. I'm worried by then all the sites will be down.

Luckily our reseller account is a Z account but that also means that WHM isn't authenticating.

Just looooove this support.......

Yay, finally my P reseller account is up. Looking in WHM, it looks like the /home partition is filling up.

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda8 153G 131G 15G 90% /home

I hope they plan to add another drive or make this larger.

Hold on a minute, most of my accounts are back but now I have accounts with user ids beginning with W and Z but not one which begins with S. What on earth is going on.

Have I lost 3 days of e-mails ??????????????????????????

Yes I believe all emails sent to your accounts that were not up are gone.

I definitely did not get emails sent to my account beginning with D from two days ago.
This is not good.

Um, if you didn't get emails, they were bounced back to the sender. IIRC, a mail server will keep trying several times to deliver your mail (maybe even for several days).

Yes, one of my sites that begins with TH is now up, email is down for it and email is still down for some PRxxxx sites of mine but the site itself is up...

update would be great from HG at this time...

I have a site with ti that just came up. the backup seems to be fairly old. I'm scrambling now because they can't find some of my sites at all. plus my login for webhost manager is not working. yikes!

Would it kill the techs at HostGator to give an update?

Maybe you could take time out of "eating the competition" and let us know the status of the restore of acura?

Oh and since I was told the owner is monitoring the situation,

How does it feel sir to see your company reputation swirl down the toilet?

As your tech explained, this is just one of 300+ reseller servers, so really, who cares, right?

We currently have 3 restore processes running at this time to get all accounts back online as soon as possible. From our current restore averages we are calculating around 3 hours to fully restore all remaining accounts. We are monitoring this process closely to make sure this gets completed as soon as possible.

We will continue to update this thread.

HG: For your post disaster review:

Please move secondary name server services to an alternative server. Having both on the acura server was and is a major contributer to the huge problems being experienced.

Please consider offering and selling a mirror whm account to resellers. This would have given us the opportunity to set up emergency redirection during the down time.

2- Which letter you are restoring now? Is it "R"?????

I have my domains up to PU*** working

THEW*** and Y*** up too (strange cause the user names are the same as domains)

But the most important accounts for me are in the STA**** and the VI*** and are down.

any update from HostGator will be kindly appreciate.
