Hi everybody:

Last post was today at 12:34 a.m., but until now my sites are down. So any news for this issue?

I don't know if it would have been feasible, but it would have been nice if we could have had our primary accounts with whm access restored first. Mine isn't until P. I'm curious why it takes so long to restore everything. How many accounts are on this server? Does it have to restart services for each new account it adds? I'm also curious how many GB of data are on this server. What are the basic prodecures that take place for each account that is restored?

I understand and thank you so much for your support, I know its difficult for all of us.
But 24 Hours ? I think its too much!!! one of my customers has 2 websites one with S and other with V and he is calling me every hour yelling, asking me for his files and telling me that he will switch to another provider.

Yeah, and you posted your message at 12:44 a.m. I believe the times are GMT. Where I live in the USA, it is 7:54 p.m. on Monday.

How can you be 40% done (and you have been backing up less then 10 hours I think), and then say it will take another 24 hours!

What kind of backup procedures does HG have that they need to go through this??

This is severe for any hosting company.

Please can you offer updates hourly as to what actual letter you are on?

We truly appreciate your patience.

Bad news
70.84.234.226 hosts 1487 domains
and they finished less than 600 domains

Incorrect. Each account can host more than a single domain -- more accounts have been completed than remain.

Hostgator Support - maybe it would be better if you simply tell us what letter your on and how many more (approximately) domains remain.

If you could just do this about every hour then we can do the math and at least kind of guess when our own customers can be relieved from this.

That would be better then all this guessing?

My main domain is up but waiting on quite a few customer sites to come online, however with my site being up, my email is not working at all. Is that something that will addressed later or should the emails be working for the sites that are active.

2nd question is how old is the back up that you are using to restore the sites.

My reseller account hosts multiple domains, my main domain is up but more then half customer sites are not, so if my account is up shouldnt all my sites be up also. Having trouble understanding you here.

As bad as this may sound, it is nice to see that I am not the only one completely stunned by the time this is taking, I do respect that issues like this arrise, but I think you have to have safeguards in place for this type of situation basically assuming the worst case scenario is always a possiblity and will always find a way to happen.

I understand you are working as quickly as possible on this problem, but I am not sure you realize the position each and every reseller is facing here, all of the phone calls, emails, support tickets you are receiveing are just a small portion of what all of us are hearing on this end, you only have us calling, we have the multiple accounts we manage going off on us, and there really seems to be a lack of communication with those resellers, you can only tell clients so many times, we are working on it and hope to get it fixed as soon as possible, every second they are down, the less that excuse holds water, and we are completely at the mercy of who we rely on to host this, so other measures have to be made to insure issues like this can not happen.

For the record, this server to my knowledge has had various issues over the past several months, so I guess my concern is, instead of correcting the problem when other issues arrived, was a band aid slapped on the problem with the hope the issues would resolve themselves, I do not know about anyone else's experience, but in the computer world I live in, a small problem only goes away when it becomes a big problem.

I do respect that host gator is working on the issue, but what is going to be offered as a reassurance for future service, what sort of compensation are you willing to offer to the resellers who like myself have had the phones ringing off the hook all day with irrate customers, I am actually suprised that I have not received multiple emails every hour as well, whoops thats right, email is down for my clients as well.

I have been in support for a good number of years, the old addage the client is always right does not always ring true, however, if you ignore that client or dismiss their concerns, that client becomes someone elses client. I hope to see the sites up as soon as you can get them, because the few of mine that have come on line, I am having to go back in and repair missing users, and uploading the websites all over because some are coming up with websites from several weeks if not months ago.

You two are sure it's your usernames that start with letters before "s", not your domain names, right?
