Now NONE of my domains are even working. I get a "Page Not Found" error after 1 second when I type them in... I fear the problem is getting worse.

*sigh* If I could only get my files and access to all my sites.

I have the same problem on all of my accounts (see earlier post) it may be part of the process, emails were working for the sites that were up, now they are not. I don't think HG is going backwards, it may be starting and stopping the servers, rebooting if you will. Big progress has been made today from what I can tell.

If you find a new host that has cpanel then you can move all accounts across very simply from within cpanel - in fact many hosts offer this themselves free to new clients transfering from other hosts.

We are aware of all email issues and we are monitoring this closely. We have almost completed all accounts restores and services should be back online within 2 hours if the account restores stay at the same pace. We will update you shortly with more information.

I agree with the last 2 posts, and am having the same experiences.
This is the worst I have seen in 10+ years on the net and going through 12+ hosts as a reseller.
HG has been wonderful till now, so lets see what happens.

Thumbs down Re: Acura Down?

Have you guys had a look at your A records since the restore.....

All gooooone....

Luckily I had a feeling this would happen and screen printed our backup DNS server before it replicated the new default entries.

Oh and of course and MX adjustments made are also goooooone.....

All accounts have now been restored. We are very sorry for this huge inconvenience that this outage has caused. We have already started looking for new backup/restore solutions to make sure this type of problem does not occur again.

All services are currently online. If you are seeing any issue with any accounts please open a support ticket by emailing support@hostgator.com.

My packages are all deleted as well, but all my accounts still have their quotas including disk space, sub domains, parked domains, databases, email accounts, etc.

Question Re: Acura Down?

Earlier this week I transferred one of my websites (e.g. thedomain.com) to a different server until this whole acura mess was cleaned up. I uploaded the files to a different server so they could be accessed from thedomain.tempsite.com. Then I changed the DNS in GoDaddy for thedomain.com to GoDaddy's nameservers and used their forwarding service. So now when people type thedomain.com, it forwards to thedomain.tempsite.com. That took up to 48 hours or whatever to propagate.

Now I'm considering the best way to transfer this back to acura. I know that I can access the site on acura at http://acura.websitewelcome.com/~thedomain/. I plan to set for GoDaddy to forward to acura instead of thedomain.tempsite.com (that it forwards to now). This will take place immediately (no DNS involved, just changes the HTTP 302 header that it sends). Then I'll change the nameservers from GoDaddy's back to acura's. So until it propagates, it will forward to http://acura.websitewelcome.com/~thedomain/ and after it propagates, thedomain.com will load straight from acura. The advantage of this, as opposed to just staying on my current server until it propagates, is that I only have to maintain the files on one server at a time.

My question is: where on acura should I forward it to for this intermediate time? Is http://acura.websitewelcome.com/~thedomain/ the best place? Is there a way I could have a subdomain like thedomain.acura.websitewelcome.com that is on acura and accesses the same account? I guess I could also use the IP 70.84.234.226/~thedomain/ to access it.

Thanks for any advice.
Josh

HG, are you planning to do something about the disk usage on /home? It is currently sitting at 93%. Is this a problem?

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda8 153G 134G 12G 93% /home

LIKE THE WAY THEY PUT THE POST AWAY LIKE ITS ALL FIXED!!!!!!!!

THIS IS WHAT IS still WRONG WITH MINE ACCOUNT:

1. I still am missing one of my domains, volubilis2000.com

2. all contact e-mail addresses for each domain is gone.

3. I can not access the cpanel's to these domains, I get a login failure for 14pagesolution.com, fengshuisolutions.net, integralelementary.com, ladolce-media.com, lighthouseresortservices.com, lindalandon.com, lolligoogles.com, and more, I am giving up checking the rest there are so many..zero cpanel access.

4. The OS commerce stores are a complete mess, the tables, everything is non-functional.

5. Can not confirm if the OScommerce MySQL databases are intact or not.

6. When was this backup taken from? I now have 2 domains back that were deleted well over a week ago, how old was the backup??

7. I can not even start to confirm whether all e-mails are actually working because I have not heard back from my 70 customers yet.

8. all packages are gone.
