I use Blogger to update several web sites on my account. Blogger supports passive and secure FTP. About 3 weeks ago, posting worked. Then, it stopped. Blogger investigated and found that the FTP server was now only supporting active FTP. When I contacted HostGator's support, they were not very efficient in responding. I gave them Blogger's response; they asked me for my FTP login information. Then finally, they tell me that the server has always supported passive FTP, however I am still getting timeout errors when trying to publish my blog.
I honestly think something got changed on the FTP server 3 weeks ago, and instead of stating that, the support person just claimed it was always the same. This isn't a very good customer service practice. Vagueing things up when a customer knows what they are talking about isn't cool. Just wanted to give you feedback on how you handle your technical support, and I would be happy to provide the emails exchanged to document exactly how little I have been helped in this matter. It would be great if you could inform me if I can use SFTP or if passive FTP can be restored. Otherwise, things have been fantastic with your hosting. I just don't appreciate being given the run around and then no explanation for the problems. Sincerely, Dana |
