First of all, sorry for the thread name, I couldn't find anything more related to my question.
I'm not in any way related to the site I mention below, but, because I use HG's services I wonder what happens to a website if the following happens. www.drojdie.info This websites name was given on national television and it was online but in 5-10 minutes after, revisiting the site, it said : This Account Has Been Suspended Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible. So, I don't really think it is related to "the billing department", and I think it's probably related to the huge number of visits at once. I wonder what hapens to a website if it gets a lot of visits because I also have a site at HG and I'm planning to upgrade to a reseller account and move more sites over to HG. It would be nice to get a bit of tehnical info about this problem and if it is really "billing department" related then the answer will be shorter .Thank you. |

That is just the default page. If there was a huge influx of visitors at once, and the coding is slopy, yes it can be suspended for resource usage.

That screen can be edited, so it must be a reseller that has that page. I have contact info on mine.

I'll take your word for it, I have no way to verify that.

Is Wordpress code slopy ? The same resource restriction applies also to reseller accounts ? The site is online now... |

Wordpress has been a problem, make sure that you read up on what you can do to make it less sloppy.
Yes, everyone is under the same restriction. If you were suspended, then your site was taking a large amount of the processor, which means that if you had your own server, it would still be a large load for it. |

1. The domain drojdie.info was hosted on my account, now I moved it to another server
2. It was nobody's fault and I'm sorry for this, if I would of knew I would of moved it before it got featured on TV but it wasn't something I knew at that time. 3. And yes, Hostgator has all the right to remove / suspend any accounts that affects other customers and this time it created a load of 40 on the server (maybe crashing it) and I don't blame them for suspending it, I'm even sorry this happened. 4. Hostgator is a great host and I'm happy to be one of their customer. |

Heh, thanks slapshotw.
Anyway, I would like to add that everything was cleared and back to normal as soon as I sent a support ticket and explained the issue. I'm happy with them

Too bad the ones who are angriest are too cheap to pay for a more expensive plan, much less a value-added service like that. |

Great, if everyone is satisfied with HG then I think I can upgrade to a reseller account. At this time I only have about 500 or less unique visitors/day on all the sites put together, that I'm going to move here.
Can you direct me to some forums where these upgrades are discussed, is it simple to upgrade to reseller, do I have to move my site and the database or can the support do that for me. Is my account going to be moved to another server if I upgrade ? I'll start searching the forum for answers but if you have some links... Thank You. |
