Although I am not new to computers (I once owned a company that manufactured Z-80 computers operating CP/M for business applications, loooong before the IBM PC) or programming. But I am new and just now trying to get into Internet Marketing. So I am digging into Clickbank, SEO, Adsense, and so on. Also looking for a Host for my fledgling Site(s). Found this company and Forum and I assumed that Pre-Sale would be for someone (like me?) who hadn't signed up for the service yet.
But I see questions and responses that are waaaaay over my head!!! Is this service for me? Would I get VERY patient help getting started? I am thinking about using something like xSitePro (or maybe SiteBuildIt) and some AdTracking and AutoResponder programs that they say to "load onto your Web Host". Are there extra fees for this or for uploading or updating my site? I'm not even sure what else to ask. Can I get responses here from both company/non-company:users? All appreciated! |

Hello, sorry it took me so long to respond. The support should be just fine and I'd reccomend using a CMS like Joomla/Mambo to manage your site. Template's can easily be made for the program and it's relatively easy to use straight from the web interface. You also can install it directly from Fantastico.

FWIW, I was a total newbie too...I'm glad I chose HostGator...
Support has been better than other hosts I've been at...hell, just having this forum here and the community support is light years beyond what I got from a major company whose name starts with Y!, for instance... As for those programs you mentioned...they will install them for you for a small fee, $20 I think....but the Fantastico package has plenty of top line packages you can install yourself with only a few clicks and maybe a couple of questions here. Z-80's and CP/M's Booyah!... My doctor still has a CP/M in the back of his office! I told him to hang onto the thing and keep it running.p.s. the control panel has an autoresponder built-in I believe... Quote:
