Default Ability to modify DNS records for shared hosting clients.

It sucks how cPanel doesn't grant users of shared hosting to modify their own dns records, but instead gives it to the root user to grant permissions to the reseller owners. I've seen custom modifications to cPanel from HG, and believe an option to modify records should be implemented.

Is there a way to just grant me reseller access limited to 1 account, with DNS options?

I don't want to keep opening a ticket every time to change a records because I frequently change servers.

If you really want control over the DNS it is possible to use an external DNS service to maintain your DNS Zone rather than the HG nameservers.

Well, you could buy a reseller account.

The nameserver/DNS options are done through WHM, not cPanel, and HG has to pay a license fee for each account that uses it.

I'd guess that if all shared accounts were given access to modify DNS records, that would cause more problems than it would solve.

Very well put--I spent a few minutes trying to phrase the same idea but failed to come up with something as succinct and clear.
