Hello,
Thank you for working with us, Your site appears to be online and working normally at this time. I do not see any open tickets under your account for this issue nor am I able to reproduce the issue you are describing. The last open ticket on June 2, 2011 appears to reference an outage caused by a RAID Rebuild which affected all customers on the system. A raid rebuild was required, because a disk on the system returned a fault. We replaced the drive to prevent data loss and ensure system stability. This is a normal and unavoidable component of server operations. The outage that occurred on June 5, 2011 appears to have been related to a networking issue at our data center that did affect some customers on the system. This outage was caused by a network protection mechanism that was enabled on the ip addresses assigned to the system and appears to have been rectified fairly quickly. At this time I do not see any other outages or issues that would impact the availability or performance of your system. I also do not see any additional incident reports on this system that would impact all customers since June 5, 2011. We do apologize if this has impacted you or your customers, if you would like to know the specific uptime rating on your server at this time, please send me a PM or open a ticket with our support team. If you believe you are experiencing an outage or have additional information on the downtime you have experienced please let us know though the support portal.

And remember, 99% uptime would equate to about 7 hours of downtime per month. The guarantee is for 99.9% uptime, which is more like 45 minutes of downtime per month (and that's physical downtime - not just "a little slow," for example). If they don't meet that standard, you can apply for a credit.
(Off-topic, but RAID has turned out to be a technology that doesn't really deliver on its promise. In theory, you can keep using a system while it reconstructs a failed drive in the array. In practice, it's damn-near impossible to keep using a system while the drive is rebuilt.) |
