I have seen often your 99.9% uptime guarantee, But how exactly will this work?
Is it by the total server offline status each month alone? or is this including the server's components failing resulting in the server as good as offline? For instance: if my web site requires mysql to function at all times, yet this component has failed on the server? the server is not offline, but due to a failed process on the server my web site is offline? When a server is displaying failed processes do you count this as the server is still online or offline? I have not received a clear answer from a single hosting company to this question, I hope you will be the first. Regards |

If your site is not up 99.9 percent of the time you can email us for a refund for that month. That would be your website (apache).
Let me know if you need more clarification, Thanks, Ben |

So can you give me the 0.1% downtime in minutes?
Is it 42.27 minutes a month? 60 x 24 x (356 / 12) x 0.1% = 42.72 |

I calculated 43.2.
60*60*30 = 43,200 43,200*99.9 = 4,315,680 4,315,680/100 = 43,156.8 43,200-43,156.8 = 43.2 |

clarification please.
I'm using easymoniter to moniter uptime, according to them at present it's at 99.83% the error stats break down to this: 01/25/05 16:25 Search text not found 16 minutes 01/25/05 15:09 No reply 17 minutes 01/06/05 14:31 No reply 17 minutes 01/05/05 14:38 No reply 36 minutes 12/04/04 17:29 No reply 51 minutes 11/22/04 13:14 No reply 15 minutes 11/19/04 08:57 No reply 23 minutes totals of the months are: Nov = 38 mins downtime Dec = 51 mins downtime Jan = 86 mins downtime so far this month, plus mysql crashed this morning and have no idea how long it was down as easymoniter only moniters the actual site, and as the error message was displaying it would of thought the site was up. So am I entitled to refund for Dec and Jan? or is the maths above (previous posts) incorrect? |
