9 Months With Hostgator

Well, I just wanted to post my two cents worth about hosting with Host Gator. I have used another leading competitor for several years, when I found out about the unlimited domain hosting with Host Gator. That's really what drew me in to the service.

I've been with Host Gator for just over 9 months now, and we (my wife and I) currently host 10 domains on our account, with 7 of the ten actually being active. We have been very pleased with the service and have not experienced any down time that we are aware of. We are avid net users, and are online probably 18-20 hours a day, so I think we would have noticed.

The only tech support issue I did experience was regarding fake spammy e-mails using my domain on the "return" address. I was concerned about firewalls at ISPs like AOL, MSN, and others possibly blacklisting my domain because of these e-mails. The live tech told me what would need to be done, but that I would need to submit a ticket. I did so, requesting that the fix be put in place, and the task was completed and tested within 24 hours.

I am currently getting ready to gear up one or two of my sites, and I will be also looking at selling domains and hosting to others. Obviously with my experiences with Host Gator, I will be more than happy to use thier reseller services when I make this move forward in my business.
