500 internal server errors any one else experiencing this...

Various pages are generating a 500 internal server error. If I wait 10+ seconds and hit refresh the page comes up. This is not just limited to JSP, my strait html pages are doing this also. Is there a buffer/caching problem? Any suggestions?

The error I am getting is random and a simple refresh will cause it to work. But when clients hit it for the first time and see that error they will just fly away.

What really gets me is in the error logs it is clear that the server cant find a specific image or page, but that page really exists. It's like their network is having collisions or something and cant make the request. But I cant believe I am the only one experiencing this problem.

You may want to take a look at the permissions of the directories/files that are causing the error. CHMOD 755 should be appropriate, although incorrect permissions would mean that you couldn't refresh and see the page. This is an interesting one, and I have not yet heard of any reports from others experiencing the same issue.
