406 Not Acceptable

Recently a couple of strange instances have occured which have prevented myself and another user from posting on the IPB forum on my site. It comes up with the following error:

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forum/index.php could not be found on this server.

Today I went to make a reply post to a completely different topic and I was unable even to post a reply with just one letter of the alphabet!

I presume this is related to mod_security? Has anything been changed with the host settings because there has never been an occurance of this sort of thing before and this week there have been two instances...
