Default 404 error for my added domains

Hello,
I have a "404 error" when i am trying to see my sites for my added domains. I added each domain (using "Add-on domains" button on my control panel) with its specific URL, then i gave it a specific and unique directory and then, i entered my password. And i clicked on the "add" button. Then, the new domain has been added. And i repeated this procedure for all my others added domains.
And it's always "404 error" for all my added domains...

Anyone has the solution, please ? May be i must do something else in my control panel that i forgot ?
Is there something else to do after having added my others domains, not
to have a "404 error ? Please, help me.
Best Regards. Mat.

I am using this type of URL "www.mydomainname.com", "my domainname" representing the domain name i bought at Godaddy and that i added at my control panel.
Is it wrong ? I thought i will have a direct URL with "Add-on domains".
How can i do to have direct URL (like "www.mydomainname.com") functioning for each of my added domain ?
Thank you very much for your help.
Regards. Mat.

You are doing it right, it should work just like you told you did it.

The only thing I can think of is that you can some kind of redirect in effect for your "main" domain.

You do have an index.html or index.php file in the directory of your addon domain, right?

If you need another extension to be the default, you might need to go into Apache Handlers in your control panel and add the extention.

Hello,Volswagn and thank you for your answer.
I will try this right away.
I am in relation with hostgator support since 6 days now !!
No accurate answers for the moment...
And now, they replied me my e-mails are blank when they received them...
A member of the suport gave me then his personnal e-mail but he didn't answer to my post.
I think i will ask for refund soon. I will try your solution, Volswagn before.
Thank you.
