2 Websites, one MySQL DB

Hello, can i access a mysql db and run queries off of it from another package of mine? i want to have realtime statistics on my website for all of my clients to login and see.

right now i am using this connntection string...and it doesnt seem to be able to work...

before i go through a huge debugging process ill check here first, may save me some time=)
