Default 2 questions

Hello all. I just signed up 2 days ago and like the site sofar but I have an issue and 2 questions.

I will not go into the issue to far other then to say if there is anyone here that has converted mybb to smf please pm me.

The 2 questions I have are as follows

Why is the php version 4.4.4 when the latest is 5.2.5? Just wondering.

Also if there are forums on here then why is there no "general" section or an area to ask for help with a programing question or something like that?

Thank you for your time and replies.

There are support forums on here.. you will get access to them once an admin has verified your forum account.

PHP 5 is available too, just add this in the .htaccess file

Code:
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

You can enable PHP 5 as it is installed in a dual boot environment within a .htaccess file.

hg will be upgrading to php 5 eventually. in a shared environement with a sizable hosting company, upgrades tend to take a bit. this is really a good idea with the server software, since it gives time for bugs to be worked out, make sure everything is stable, and gradually deal with issues as they come up with each individual server that's upgraded.
